Our Mission
Our Approach
Maximilian Kolbe College was created to offer a different kind of college experience—one built around relationships, meaningful work, and hands-on learning.
Many capable students struggle in traditional universities not because they lack intelligence or motivation, but because those environments were not designed with their learning needs in mind. Maximilian Kolbe College was founded to change that.
At MKC, students learn in small cohorts, receive structured support, participate in experiential learning, and gain real-world experience through paid campus employment. Together, these elements create a college environment where students can grow academically, socially, and professionally.
Maximilian Kolbe College seeks to create a learning environment where every student is known, supported, and challenged to grow. By integrating academics, mentorship, and real-world experience, MKC prepares graduates who are thoughtful leaders, creative problem-solvers, and engaged members of their communities.
Small Learning Communities
Students learn in cohorts of 10–12 peers who support one another throughout their college journey.
A Different Kind of College
Relationship-Centered Education
Faculty, learning therapists, and staff work closely with students to support both academic and personal development.
Experiential Learning
Students apply what they learn through collaborative projects, community engagement, and real-world problem solving.
Work-Integrated Education
Through Kolbe Works, students gain meaningful professional experience while contributing to the campus community.
Why the Name Maximilian Kolbe College (MKC)?
Maximilian Kolbe College is named in honor of Maximilian Kolbe, whose life reflected courage, compassion, and a deep commitment to serving others. His example reminds us that education is not only about gaining knowledge, but also about developing character, responsibility, and a commitment to the well-being of others. MKC seeks to carry forward these values by preparing students to lead lives of purpose, service, and meaningful contribution.
